Announcement - A new national industrial relations system

From 1 January 2010 the NSW Government has decided that all employees currently covered by the NSW industrial relations system (other than state public sector or local government employees) will be transferred into the national scheme. This is, generally, those employees who are employed by sole traders or partnerships. Legislation is expected to be introduced into State Parliament this week.

Until 1 January 2010 employees and employers covered by the NSW industrial relations system continue to have the same rights and obligations as currently exist under that law.
